Facilitators and Barriers to Stuttering Telepractice in Preschool Children: A Qualitative Study

Objective With the advancement of information and communication technology, use telepractice has expanded to provide speech, language, swallowing services. In different countries, studies have been conducted in field disorders, including stuttering, these confirmed effectiveness this method providing treatment mentioned some problems. To present more effectively, challenges should be examined. The study investigate facilitators barriers stuttering preschool children. Materials & Methods qualitative study, individual unstructured interviews using content analysis with 11 participants, therapists experience children, who were opposed (n=7 people) as well parents had successful unsuccessful (n=4). Results Telepractice included cost reduction, therapist-client between sessions, greater parental cooperation responsibility telepractice, reduced stress increased child-therapist collaboration natural environment, time freedom, flexibility for family therapist. Barriers group lower trust therapist limited cues, spending energy by therapist, difficulty educating parents, lack comprehensive protocols telepractice. Conclusion When cases are recognized, it is possible higher-quality people need services reducing strengthening facilitators. achieve goal, necessary conduct develop detailed treatment, taking into account existing obstacles.
